DESCRIPTION:Heidi Hunter\, of Save Georgia's Hemlocks\, calls our attention to the Eastern Hemlock\, a native tree integral to North Georgia's ecosystem which has been greatly endangered by the hemlock woolly adelgid (HWA)\, an invasive insect with no known local\, natural predators. These insects have affected hemlocks in all 19 counties of the North Georgia region\, a threat which left uncontained will cause major ecosystem shifts in air quality\, stream quality and flow\, and above all\, a significantly vulnerable forest environment.
