What do you think of when you dream of summer?

At Lake Chatuge, we dream of lush gardens and hiking trails, overflowing with native flowers and trees that invite you to explore its wandering pathways. We dream of cool splashes under towering waterfalls that refresh you after adventure. We dream of long days spent soaking up the sun on our beautiful expanse of lake, and evenings watching the sunset over the mountains and water as we sip on local wine. We dream of our little slice of paradise, nestled among the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, and we think you should, too.

“Hike” to it!

The beautiful mountains that surround our town make us an ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts. A plethora of hiking trails and natural gardens are right in our backyard, just waiting for you to explore. One of our personal favorites is the Miller Trek, located at Brasstown Valley Resort and Spa. The Miller Trek offers more than one trail loop, giving you the option to hike a full six-and-a-half-mile roundtrip journey or a two-and-a-half-mile expedition. Regardless of the route you take, you’re sure to enjoy beautiful views of the forests that surround Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa. You may even spot wildlife like foxes, deer and bears.
Many of the beautiful hikes that can be found in our area also lead to towering waterfalls. High Shoals Falls, a two-and-a-half-mile hike through the Chattahoochee National Forest, is centered with stunning views of High Shoals waterfall and is also home to Blue Hole Falls, a smaller waterfall that empties into a cool, blue pool below. It’s a great place to connect with nature and cool off from the summer heat.

“Water” You Waiting For?

The true gem of our oasis is our glittering lake, with 130 miles of shoreline and dotted with naturally made coves and inlets. It’s a hub of refreshing activity, guaranteed to keep you cool on the hottest days of a Georgia summer. There are a variety of ways to enjoy it. Our watercraft rental sites offer a little bit of everything – pontoon rentals, kayaks, canoes, jet skis and more. For a truly unique experience on our waters, gather your crew and schedule a trip on the AquaTiki! Known as the party boat with island vibes, the Aqua Tiki comes equipped with a licensed captain, bartender, a groovy playlist of island tunes, floats for the water and complimentary soft drinks, water, beer, and wine.

If you’re on the hunt for something truly special, Lake Chatuge Beach, a locally loved treasure along the lake’s coastline, is a perfect place to lounge in the sand, soak up the sun and splash in the lake’s cool waters. The beach also features a covered picnic area and playground.

We’re “Dining” to Meet You!

After a day spent exploring our natural wonders, there’s no better way to end it than enjoying a summer sunset on a spacious patio with a delicious meal. For sparkling sunset views over Lake Chatuge, stop by the Sand Bar and Grille. A local restaurant with serious island vibes, this tropical-themed eatery has a variety of menu options, ranging from seafood entrees like oysters and shrimp to pizza and burgers. Its sandy front yard also features beach games, perfect to keep the fun going while you wait to chow down. For a beautiful mountain view, enjoy the patio space at Brassies Bar and Grill, located at Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa. The restaurant’s patio space overlooks the sweeping North Georgia mountains, as well as Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa’s signature golf course.

As you plan your perfect summer getaways, we hope you will dream of spending sunny days at Lake Chatuge. From adrenaline-pumping activities to relaxing soaks in our lake and delicious dining options, there’s no better place to enjoy the great outdoors than along our shores.
